Boston Premiere of Spotlight

October 29, 2015

The Boston premiere of Spotlight was held last night at the Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline.

Following the screening, director Tom McCarthy spoke to the audience, and he invited all of the actors in attendance to the stage, by name, as well as each of the real-life journalists that were portrayed in the film, to join him as he talked about the making of the movie and what it meant for him to debut it in Boston. The movie was shot in and around Cranston, Rhode Island, Pazienza’s home town, and stars Miles Teller (Whiplash, Insurgent) as Vinny.

Spotlight on Fenway

My first day of filming on Spotlight was one to remember. The scene, which features Mark Ruffalo, John Slattery, Brian d’Arcy James, and me, was set in the stands of Fenway Park and shot during an actual Boston Red Sox game. Shooting began immediately after the first pitch and continued throughout the entire game, after which, the aforementioned cast members, as well as about a hundred or so background actors, remained until the wee hours of the morning as director Tom McCarthy and crew captured even more angles.

I have been cast in a film called Spotlight, which will be directed by Tom McCarthy and features an amazing cast, including Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Rachel McAadams, John Slattery, and Liev Schreiber among others!

The movie, which tells “the true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core,” will be shot in Boston and Toronto this fall.
